The Trek of the Phaeton

Jun 21, 2018 | Uncategorized |

Living near Gettysburg had been a life-long dream of Paul and Betty Anderson. The Anderson’s, after all, were re-enactors and there was no better place in the country to live out their Civil War fantasies than here. Braunerton, Pennsylvania was one of the areas in the country that still thrived with re-enactments. And though political correctness had laid waste to most of these theatrical events, Braunerton was still a hot-bed for the occurrences. Brady Anderson, their son, rarely participated. He thought his parents were crazy and over the top. But, because of Sarah, his next-door neighbor, he agreed to be a flag bearer. Coincidentally, Sarah’s parents were also re-enactors, though they “fought” for the south while his parents paraded the blue uniforms of the north.

With each family packed up in their respective motor-homes, they traveled down a winding road in the back woods near Hanover until Mr. Anderson took a wrong turn. The error would cost more than one family member their lives.
